Anatomy & Physiology 12

Course Overview

Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” As we progress through Biology 12, you will be amazed at God's creation of the human body. Students will see time and time again that we are indeed “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).

This course begins with the cell, the building block of life. We will study the structure and mechanisms of the cell, discover how cells work together to form the major body systems, and how learn how these systems work together to keep our bodies regulated for optimum performance!

Biology 11 is not a pre-requisite for this course.

Unit 1 Overview – Cell Structure & Cell Compounds

Differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms are reviewed. The structure and function of cell organelles are explored. The chemical nature of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids are differentiated.

Unit 2 Overview – Cell Processes

Critical cell processes are examined in detail, including membrane transport, protein synthesis, enzyme function, and nucleic acids (DNA & RNA).

Unit 3 Overview – Human Biology
