Comparative Civilizations 12 (With Europe Trip)

Comparative Civilizations 12 (With Europe Trip) is a complete program  of courses featuring an exciting Spring Break educational trip to  Greece and Italy. Using a distinctively Christian analytical schema,  students will examine the history, literature, art, and philosophy of  the ancient civilizations, which have defined the 'western story'.  Students will study and compare political, social, and economic  structures and, as believers, will pay particular attention to the  underlying cultural mythos which orients their thinking, establishes  their habits of thought, and animates their everyday way of life and  being.

The Comparative Civilizations 12 concept features two basic options:

OPTION #1: Comparative Civilizations 12 Classic (up to 20 course credits)

The CC12 Classic program enables students to get credit for Comparative  Civilizations 12, IDS 12 - Comparative Civilizations 12, Christian  Studies 12, IDS 12 - Christian Studies 12, and Art Foundations 12  through a two-week trip to Europe on Spring Break and through a  customized program of study in the 2nd Semester surrounding the trip.

OPTION #2: Comparative Civilizations 12 Enriched (up to 28 course credits)

Alternatively, students wanting to step it up a notch, can sign up for  the CC12 Enriched program which features a Spring Break trip to Europe  and all the same courses as CC12 Classic with the addition of History 12  and/or English 12. Students signing up for the enriched program may  choose to start their English 12 and/or History 12 courses in the 1st  Semester. The rest of the courses would begin in the 2nd Semester.

If you are interested in either of these options, please choose  Comparative Civilizations 12 (With Europe Trip) when you enroll online  and then e-mail Mr. Eric Vanee evanee @ onlineschool.ca  so that he can help you choose the course combination that  appropriately suits your schedule and needs. Please note that the number  of course credits available is dependent on student interest, ability,  and enthusiasm. Final overall credit is contingent upon the number of hours dedicated to an in depth study of course themes as judged by the Comparative Civilizations 12 teaching team.

The  cost of the trip portion of this course will be approximately $3500 and  there is a class limit of 20 students. Trip details will be announced  at the introductory Elluminate session during the second week of  September. Stay tuned for details!
