Individualized/Hybrid Foundations of Math 11

Course Overview

In Individualized/Hybrid Foundations of Math 11 learn a wide variety of math skill.  These skills will help prepare students for university programs that do not have a math focus.  This will provide students with the opportunity to take Foundations of Math 12.

Student taking this course will normally complete this course using iWrite Foundation of Math 11 workbook.


Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 1.5hrs/day for 1 semester


  • Students will require iWrite Foundation of Math 11 by Absolute Value Press or another textbook approved by the course teacher.
  • Assignments will need to be scanned and submitted on Moodle and student will need access to Skype.
  • Students will need a quality scientific calculator and have the option of using a graphing calculator.
  • Completion of Foundations and Pre-Calculus Math 10 is required as a pre-requisite.

Enrollment Options

Your child is...

  • An enrolled HCOS student

    If your child is already an enrolled HCOS student, you can add a new online course in your parent Encom account. Here are the steps to do this:

    1. Sign into Encom: encom.onlineschool.ca
      What if I don't remember my login info?
    2. In Encom, click on the Course Selection button. 
    3. This will show you all of the courses that are available. If you do not see a specific course that you were looking for, please contact your individual teacher (grades 5-9) or regional grad advisor (grades 10-12).
  • A new student wishing to enroll with HCOS

    To enroll your child with HCOS, go to onlineschool.ca/enrollment-options/enroll-or-register-now/. Read the information and requirements, then click the Proceed with DL Enrollment button, and complete the enrollment form.

    Once you have completed this process, you will receive an email with your username and password for Encom. Then follow the steps for an enrolled HCOS student to add new courses.

  • Attending another school, but wishes to take an HCOS course
