Science 10 - Hybrid

Instructional Approach

Individualized Science 10 (BC Science 10 textbook & workbook) will  be using a hybrid Online/Individualized approach this year. Content and  instructions will be housed in Moodle giving students instant access to  lessons, assessment tools, grades and feedback while allowing them the  freedom to complete the work in a traditional individualized manner  offline, using the BC Science 10 curriculum.

Course Structure

Students will follow the outline in Moodle, progressing through the 4  units of study (see below). Each unit contains directions and the  necessary files to complete before moving on in the course.

These activities may include textbook reading assignments, written  assignments, experiments, quizzes and tests. Hand-In boxes, as well as  online quizzes and tests are available where required for students to  submit work or assess their understanding of the material.

Main Study Topics:

  • Life Science: Sustainability of Ecosystems : Chapters 1–3 (Biology)
  • Chemical Reactions & Radioactivity: Chapters 4–7 (Chemistry)
  • Motion: Chapters 8 & 9 (Physics)
  • Energy Transfer in Natural Systems: Chapters 10–12 (Earth Science)
